WHATS THE DIFFERENCE

BETWEEN

CLASSICA
L

&

CONTEMP
ORARY

THE MAIN DIFFERENCE

(yang paling ketara punya)

MICROPHONE!

Classical
Seeks vocal purity.
Classical techniques
focus on lifting of the
soft palate.
Maintaining an open
throat as in a yawn.
Trained to sing in
opera houses,
churches, auditoriums,
coliseums and
amphitheaters.
Traditionally strict in
singing.
Classical singers use
more back resonance.
Sing with lower larynx.

shapes for all five

different
vowels.
Contemporary
need to sing in a right
key and not hurt your
voice.
Pop singers use ore
Twang.
Sing with (tend to)
higher larynx.
pop singers tend to
use a (chest) mix
voice & less vibrato.
Free to sing own
expression.

Still~ Therere some

similarities ^_^

Both require

goodbreathing

support to hit

notes powerfully, regardless of whether the

notes are belted or sung in head voice.
Both require sympathetic resonance in multiple
areas, even if the distributions of resonance
are different. Both require a good sense of
pitch and timing, and both types of singing,
ideally, should be free of throat constriction.
