Common

Nouns:

Common nouns are words used to name general


items rather than specific ones.
Lamp, candle, car and etc.
Proper

Nouns:

Proper nouns are the words used to name a


specific ones
Quaid-e-Azam, Pakistan, Punjab University
and etc.

Collective

Nouns:
A collective noun is a word that refers to
a group. It can be either singular or
plural, but is usually used in the singular.
Staff, police, audience ,family and etc.

Abstract

Nouns:
Abstract nouns are those referring to
ideas, concepts, emotions, and other
things you cant physically interact with.
Success, bravery, love and etc.

Pronouns
Special words used like a noun.
There are different kinds of pronouns.
o Subject Pronouns
o Object pronouns
o Possessive pronouns
o Reflexive pronouns

Subject Pronouns:
A subject pronoun acts as the subject of a
sentence. The subject pronouns are he, I,
it, she, they, we, and you.
Example:
Kathie wrote a letter. He mailed it to her sister.
You are watching the videos.

Object

Pronouns:
Object pronoun acts as the object of verb
and preposition. The object pronouns are
me, you, him, her, them and us.
Examples:
He begged her to live with him.
He told you a lie.
Our grandparents gave us candy.

Possessive

Pronouns:

A possessive pronoun tells you who owns something.


The possessive pronouns are hers, his, its, mine, ours,
theirs, and yours.
Examples:
This is my friends chair.
Or
This is his chair.
This is my computer.
Or
This is mine
I dont have my phone. I have your phone.
Or
I dont have my phone. I have yours.
