INTRODUCTION
Handwriting Recognition:
Handwriting recognition is the task of transforming a
language represented in its spatial form of graphical marks
into its symbolic representation.

Types of Handwriting Recognition:

Online handwriting recognition
Offline handwriting recognition

INTRODUCTION

What is online handwriting recognition?

Online handwriting recognition involves the automatic
conversion of text as it is return on a special digitizer or
PDA,where a sensor fix up the pen-tip movements as well as
pen-up /pen-down switching.
Online HWR , incontrast to offline HWR , refers to the
situation where the recognition is performed concurrent to
the writing process.

INTRODUCTION

Online arabic handwriting recognition:

There are more than 200 million arabic speaking people in
the world and twice as many use the arabic scripts.
Online HWR of a arabic scripts is a difficult problem since it
is naturally both recursive and unconstrained.
The analysis of arabic scripts is further complicated in
comparison to Latin scripts due to obligatory dots /strokes
that are placed above or below most letters.
