Personal History
I am from Lexington, North Carolina.
I plan to attend North Carolina A&T State University.
High School-Health Sciences; College- Education
Interning with LSHS would provide me an opportunity to
broaden a variety of my skills and allow me to explore a
different career field. I knew that interning would give me the
hands-on experience that would push or pull me to my
future career path.
My main goal for internship was to determine if the field of
pharmacy is my ideal career.

Service Learning Project

My original service learning project plan was to host a health
fair.
Why?
Many Lexington citizens lack education about their wellbeing. Having a free health fair would benefit the
community.
Describe challenges you faced:
Time constraints
Lack of resources
SN: I did not get to do my original service learning project due to time constraints and
other issues. I will be referencing to my original service learning project plan in this
slide..

Deliverables and Outcomes

Explain what you achieved with your service learning project?
Specifically, I did not achieve anything with my service learning
project, but I learned how to create a project proposal and plan. I
learned how to research the needs of my community. I also
learned new ways to gather data using Google applications. In
the future, I hope to learn how to plan my time wiser (time
management).

SN: Again, I will be referencing to my original service learning project plan.

Personal/Team Lessons Learned

Takeaways from internship experience:

Interning at Lexington Family Pharmacy has provided me with a

realistic preview of working at a pharmacy. I was given adequate
training to perform challenging tasks. The staff was always
welcoming and thanked me daily for my contributions. I am
honored to have had the opportunity to intern with Lexington
Family Pharmacy!

Biggest lessons learned/ most rewarding thing

I learned that it is important to report unusual sightings. This
helped increased my attention to detail.
The most rewarding thing was know that coming in just for an
hour or two makes a difference. I was able to help maintain one
of their mottos, quick and easy.

Recommended Next Steps for Lexington

Family Pharmacy
What have you learned from your project /experience?
From this experience, I have learned how to work towards a
specific goal with a team. It is important to have a common goal
and share individual characteristics to meet that goal.

How can your organization implement what you produced this

semester?
There is no certain way to measure my growth and achievement.
However, any of the Lexington Family Pharmacy employees
would be happy to talk about their experience with me.

What you would recommend LSHS do to build upon your

project, reinforce the lessons learned, or add to it in the
coming year(s).
I would recommend that LSHS take my incomplete service
