You Raise Me Up:

Josh Groban
When I am down, and, oh, my soul, so weary
When troubles come, and my heart burdened be
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence
Until you come and sit awhile with me
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas
I am strong when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be
There is no life, no life without its hunger
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly
But then you come, and I am filled with wonder
Sometimes I think I glimpse eternity
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas
I am strong when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains

You raise me up to walk on stormy seas
I am strong when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas
I am strong when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be
You raise me up to more than I can be

You Raise Me Up: Explanation

This song relates to Hamlet by when Hamlets
father dies. This song talks about raising
someone you love up to heaven. In this case
he is raising his father to heaven and grieves
his death.

100 Years
Fifteen there's still time for you
Time to buy, time to lose yourself
Within a morning star
Fifteen I'm all right with you
Fifteen, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got hundred years to live
Sixty seven is gone
The sun is getting high
We're moving on
I'm ninety nine for a moment
Dying for just another moment
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
Fifteen there's still time for you
Twenty two I feel her too
Thirty three you're on your way
Every day's a new day
Fifteen there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to choose
Hey fifteen, there's never a wish better than this

I'm fifteen for a moment

Caught in between ten and twenty
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
I'm twenty two for a moment
She feels better than ever
And we're on fire
Making our way back from Mars
Fifteen there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose
Fifteen, there's never a wish better than this
When you only got hundred years to live
I'm thirty three for a moment
Still the man, but you see I'm of age
A kid on the way
A family on my mind
I'm forty five for a moment
The sea is high
And I'm heading into a crisis
Chasing the years of my life

100 Years: Explanation

This song relates to Hamlet by saying now life is so short
and how Hamlet was debating suicide. I think he realizes
what would happen if he would commit suicide. In life
there is always going to be a challenge and you have to
stay strong even through the roughest times.

Unwritten
I am unwritten
Can't read my mind
I'm undefined
I'm just beginning
The pen's in my hand
Ending unplanned
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins

I break tradition
Sometimes my tries are outside the lines
We've been conditioned to not make mistakes
But I can't live that way
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins

Unwritten: Explanation
Unwritten is a great example of how Hamlet is.
Hamlet wanted to kill Claudius but hasnt. Just
like in the song reaching for something in the
distance. Hamlet is reaching for revenge because
of his fathers death.

All of Me:
What would I do without your smart mouth?
Drawing me in, and you kicking me out
You've got my head spinning, no kidding, I can't pin you down
What's going on in that beautiful mind
I'm on your magical mystery ride
And I'm so dizzy, don't know what hit me, but I'll be alright
My head's under water
But I'm breathing fine
You're crazy and I'm out of my mind
'Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I'll give my all to you
You're my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I'm winning
'Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you, oh oh

How many times do I have to tell you

Even when you're crying you're beautiful too
The world is beating you down, I'm around through every mood
You're my downfall, you're my muse
My worst distraction, my rhythm and blues
I can't stop singing, it's ringing, in my head for you
My head's under water
But I'm breathing fine
You're crazy and I'm out of my mind
'Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Give your all to me
I'll give my all to you
You're my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I'm winning
'Cause I give you all of me
And you give me all of you, oh oh.

All of Me: Explanation

In the beginning of the book Hamlet and Ophelia were in
love. Multiple things happened and Hamlet found out he
was being spied on after this event, there love ended.
Hamlet talks about how he loves her in Act II. I lines 75119. He is very intimate and doesnt want there love to
end until he finds out about them spying. In the song it
talks about two people loving each other unconditionally,
this relates perfectly to Hamlet and Ophelia when they
were in love.

Bad Romance

(Oh-oh-oh-oh-oooh!)

A

Bad Romance: Explanation

This song describes Hamlets mother, Gertrude. Gertrude
is married and loved someone who isnt the best
influence on her and it isnt a good relationship. Just like
the song it talks about a bad love in a relationship. This
occurs with Gertrude and Hamlets uncle or his current
dad.

Suicide

The days are dark when you're not around

the air is getting hard to breathe.
I wish that you would just put me down
I wish that I could go to sleep.
Loving you is suicide
I Don't know should I go or should I stay?
I'm tryna to keep myself alive
knowing there's a chance it's all too late.
But I heard you say you loved me.
That's the part I can't forget
and I wish that you'd come save me
cause' I'm standing over the edge.
I should let you go
tell myself the things I need to hear
but my brain is wired wrong.
That's why i'm loving you when you're not
here.
Feels like I drown in your every word
and every breath that's in between.
Somehow you got me where it really hurts
And it's killing every part of me.

Suicide: Explanation
This song relates to Hamlet and how in the play
he was thinking of committing suicide. Everyone
thinks he has gone angry due to his fathers death
but he in reality he wants to commit suicide. In
this song someone wants to commit suicide just
like Hamlet states in Act III. I lines 58-90.

Guiltiness

Guiltiness (talking about guiltiness)

Pressed on their conscience, oh yeah
Oh yeah
And they live their lives (they live live)
On false pretense everyday
Each and everyday yeah
These are the big fish (these are the big fish)
Who always try to eat down the small fish
And just the small fish
I tell you what, they would do anything
To materialize their every wish
Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah
But they woe to the down pressers
They'll eat the bread of sorrow
Woe to the down pressers
They'll eat the bread of sad tomorrow
Woe to the down pressers
They'll eat the bread of sorrow
Oh, yeah yeah! Oh, yeah yeah yeah yeah.

Guiltiness: Explanation
In Hamlet there was a play wrote by
Hamlet. The goal while the play was going
on was to see if Claudius would react a
certain way. This scene would explain if he
killed his father or not. Claudius feels guilt
just like in the song has felt guilt for
everything they have done their past.

Backstabber
Backstabber [repeat 3x]
Bored, stoned, sitting in your basement
All alone, cause your little conversations
Got around, now look here what we all found out
(look here what we found, look here we all found out)
That you have got a set of loose lips, twisting stories
All because you're jealous
Now I know exactly what you're all about
So this is what you're all about
Girl, your such a backstabber
Oh girl, you're such a talker
And everybody knows it (everybody knows it)
Girl, your such a backstabber,
Run your mouth more than everyone I've ever known
And everybody knows it (everybody knows it)
Backstabber

Backstabber: Explanation
In this song it talks about betrayal. In this play,
Hamlet is betrayed by his two friends
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. They have
betrayed him by spying on him. Hamlet is smart
and finds out, he knows what they are up to and
doesnt trust them due to this situation.

Ghost
I'm searching for something that I can't reach
I don't like them innocent
I don't want no face fresh
Want them wearing leather
Begging, let me be your taste test
I like the sad eyes, bad guys
Mouth full of white lies
Kiss me in the corridor
But quick to tell me goodbye
You say that you're no good for me
'Cause I'm always tugging at your sleeve
And I swear I hate you when you leave
I like it anyway

My ghost
Where'd you go?
I can't find you in the body sleeping next to me
My ghost
Where'd you go?
What happened to the soul you used to be?
You're a Rolling Stone boy
Never sleep alone boy
Got a million numbers
And they're filling up your phone, boy
I'm off the deep end, sleeping
All night through the weekend
Saying that I love him but
I know I'm gonna leave him.

Ghost: Explanation
In Hamlet a ghost appears to Hamlet many times.
This ghost is Hamlets father. One time the ghost
tells Hamlet to follow him and he does. His
friends are worried for him because, they dont
know what will happen to him. Hamlet goes
because, he has nothing to lose because, he is in
a time of depression and doesnt care what will
happen.

Dont Say
Sometimes I need to remember just to breathe
Sometimes I need you to stay away from me
Sometimes Im in disbelief I didnt know
Somehow I need you to go

Sometimes I feel like I trusted you too well

Sometimes I just feel like screaming at myself
Sometimes Im in disbelief I didnt know
Somehow I need to be alone

Dont stay
Forget our memories
Forget our possibilities
What you were changing me into
Just give me myself back and
Dont stay
Forget our memories
Forget our possibilities
Take all your faithlessness with you
Just give me myself back and
Dont stay

I
I
I
I

dont need
dont need
dont need
dont need

you anymore, I dont want to be ignored

one more day of you wasting me away
you anymore, I dont want to be ignored
one more day of you wasting me away

With no apologies
Don't stay
Don't stay

Dont Say: Explanation

This song relates to Hamlet by talking about losing
everything and to forgot what has happened. Hamlet can
relate to this because he has lost his dad and he has also
lost the love of his life, Ophelia. It also talks about to
just breath and take time for yourself. I think that
Hamlet realized that he needed to figure out what he
wanted to do to punish the killer of his father.
