INTRODUCTI
ON

Non-governmental organization (NGO) is a term that

has become widely accepted for referring to a legally
constituted, non-business organization created by natural
or legal persons with no participation or representation
of any government.
In the cases in which NGOs are funded totally or
partially by governments, the NGO maintains its nongovernmental status insofar as it excludes government
representatives from membership in the organization.
Unlike the term intergovernmental organization, "nongovernmental organization" is a term in generalized use
but not a legal definition, in many jurisdictions these type
of organizations are defined as "civil society
organizations" or alternative terms.

Asha Daan is run by the mission of the Sisters of
Charity House in Mumbai, a centre founded in 1976 by
the Blessed Teresa of Kolkata.
To take care of abandoned or physically and mentally
disabled children as well as AIDS patients

COMMUNITY OUTREACH
PROGRAMME

They are involved in community development

programme with focus on children and women
Their Vision is making Mumbai a cent percent literate
state, people to be free from superstitious belief and
aware about what's going around them.
Their Mission is thorough education to all and through
the process of each one teach one.
The orphanage is home to more than 50 girls between
the ages of 8 and 16.

ALL SAINTS HOME

Located at Dockyard.
Was founded by All Saints Memorial Chapel in 1986 to
provide residential nursing care in a Christian
environment for the elderly sick of all races and religions
in the community.
All Saints Home is registered as a Voluntary Welfare
Organization and licensed by the Ministry of Health. It is
a Member of the National Council of Social Service and a
registered charity.
