Introduction

Online bus booking system is web base based application That works
within centralised network .The software program online Bus Ticket
Reservation System provide bus translation system, a facility to reserved
seats, cancellation of seats and different type of enquiry which need an
instant and quick reservation. E-ticket is the easier and quickest way to take
bus.
example: redbus, ksrtc,MSRTC

Objective

The objective of Bus booking system is to easily track the information of

all customers, drivers and bus destination. The main goal of the software is
to build a good reservation tool for all customers. The main purpose of this
software is to reduce the time taken through manual system in order to
maintain all the records.

Existing System
Manually goes to the bus stand and book his ticket.
Downloading the ticket from as paper document, filling it
manually and submitting it at bus stand
Fill the ticket from on system and get the print out as paper
document to submit it at bus stand
Even above approaches make a ticket booking online, it was
not completely done on online.
Passenger may not have much freedom over this approach.

Proposed System
Providing special concession to physically and disabled customers
Providing with discount regular customers
Cancellation charges 40% deducted only till the last 8 hours
Same rate of tickets during festival season even if the demand is high
Reduced rate if two way travel
No third party involvement

This online bus Ticket system will help passengers get bus ticket
reservation online and eliminate the need of standing in queues for ticket for
each journey.
The payment can done online via credit or debit card.
More facility for ticket Comparatively with other online bus booking sites.

Disadvantages
You need Internet access.
It requires a large data base and memory.
Not all online booking systems are created equal.

CONCLUSION
Maintenance and usage of the system will be easy as the documentation
and user manual of the system will be available to all users. Also there
will be room for enhancement as this was considered during
development.
The system will offer better functionalities than the manual system, where
the users of the system will have to be computer literate so as to use the
system effectively.
