ABSTRACT:
We are going to propose an integrated portable device for heart rate and body temperature
monitoring system.
The developed system is consist the arduino UNO microcontroller system and android based
application.
The system gives information of heart rate and body temperature simultaneously acquired on the
portable device in real time and shows it through the connected android application instantly.

EXISTING METHOD:
WORKING:
In optical method powerful LED and Light Dependent Resistor (LDR)are used sense to pulse.
The pulse signals are then amplified by an amplified circuit and filtered and through a band pass.
The amplified and filtered pulse signals are send to the microcontroller.
Microcontroller went to heart rate and displays the result in a LCD display.

EXISTING METHOD:
DISADVANTAGES:

Using electrical and optical methods.

Wired communication.

Inaccurate result in many cases because analog signal of pulses varies from person to
person.

HEART BEAT SENSING UNIT:
HEART BEAT SENSING UNIT USED TO SENSE THE HEART BEAT
BY CHANGING THE BLOOD FLOW RATE.
HERE INFRARED TRANSMITTER AND RECEIVER IS USED TO
MEASURE THE PULSE BY CHANGING THE BLOOD FLOW RATE
THROUGH ONE OF THE FINGER.

LOW PASS FILTER:

LOW PASS FILTER HAS BEEN DESIGED TO FILTER OUT THE
UNWANTED NOISE AND INTERFERENCE DUE TO SMALL
MOVEMENT OF FINGER WHICH CAUSES EXCESS NOISE.
TEMPERATURE SENSOR:
TEMPERATURE SENSOR IS USED TO MEASURE THE BODY
TEMPERATURE

PROPOSED METHOD:
ADVANTAGES:

Using android device.

Use infrared technology to measure heart rate.

Use temperature sensor to measure body temperature.

Wireless communication.

By using Bluetooth, continuous measurements are send to the android application.

APPLICATIONS:
To measure the heart rate and body temperature of the persons.
To recognize the actual condition of the patients.
Such a device is more essential in a situation where there is no doctor or clinic nearby (e.g.,rural
area).
