English has many forms of verbs. Verbs are
words that are used to show action or states of
being.

Action Verbs
Action verbs show action. They describe what you
are doing physically or mentally.
Action verbs are shown in Grammar Graphics as a
RED BALL
State of Being Verbs
State of being verbs show no action. There are 23.
State of being verbs are shown in Grammar
Graphics as a RED BALL with a HOLE
Linking Verbs
Linking verbs connects a State of Being verb with
a noun renaming the subject.
Linking verbs are shown in Grammar Graphics as a
RED BALL, with a hole, ON a Noun (square)
