Afican Americans part 1
Prior- Some African Americans took
part in the New Deal project with
writing projects ,and interviews with
former slaves. They also still faced a
lot of discrimination.
During- Training and opportunitys
were unavailable. The army was
strictly segregated and generally
assigned African Americans soldiers
to noncombat roles.
African Americans part 2
Immediately following- The Tuskegee
airmen were celebrated. The same
discrimination was there.
Modern- Most African Americans are
content with their lives ,but some
have health issues and still face
discrimination.
Mexican Americans part 1
Prior- Some immigrants were
deported due to Border Patrol.
During- The Battle of Batoan and the
Batoan Death March mostly
consisted of Mexican Americans.
Immediately following- The Bacero
Program was launched to addressed
labor shortages after WWII, program
ended in 1964.
Mexican Americans part 2
Modern- D.H.S announced that all
visa-waiver countries must provide
pass ports and a digital picture.
Japanese Americans part 1
Prior- Everyone hated them because
they were different. There were
protests to get them out of the
country.
During- Executive order 9066
authorises relocation and/or
interment of anyone who might be a
threat.
Immediately following- They were
released from the camps and were
Japanese Americans part 2
Modern- Many Japanese Americans
are treated differently and looked at
badly because of Pearl Horbor.
Chinese Americans part1
Prior- In 1917 the barred zone act
was made putting it on the list of
undesirables, which where things
preventing entering the country
because of national origins.
During- WWII veterans were granted
citizenship because of fighting in
WWI.
Immediately following- The Internal
Security Act was during the cold war.
Chinese Americans part 2
Modern- Pivotal Supreme Court case
decided Chinese Americans born and
raised in the United States are
materialized and are a citizen.
Native Americans part 1
Prior- Society of Indians was at
Columbus, Ohio grads from the
Carlisle School, the Indian industrial
training school.
During- National Congress of
American Indians holds its first
conference in Denver, Colorado.
Immediately following- Many states
said Indians couldn't vote.
Native Americans part 2
Modern- Still today many of the
Native Americans and the
government still can't find status and
identity of the original inhabitants of
North America.
