24
OSN 9500 internal communication--Lanswitch

Through Lanswitch
various boards report their status information to the JSCC
various boards report their alarm information to the JSCC
various boards report their performance information to the JSCC
JSCC sends the query commands to the boards
JSCC sends the control commands to the boards
various boards send back their response

Note
All the configuration commands the JSCC sends to board go through
Lanswitch
Ethernet communication problem would give rise to alarms but
wont cause the failure of XCH switch or network protection

25

Internal IP
JSCC IP : 192.168.0.250 , submask : 255.255.0.0
Board IP : 192.168.0.* * represents the slot id of the board
When we link to the boards directly through JCOM, set the PC ip
different from the boards internal ip to avoid collision

Switching features of XCH

four XCH are divided into two groups, each group switches
independly
When XCH detect SF event in the 2.5--rate bus from line board,
XCH reports the BUS_ERR alarm, and switches
When line board detect SF/SD event in the 2.5--rate bus from XCH ,
yet another bus from the other XCH is ok, the line board picks the
good one and reports SLAVE_WORK alarm
when XCH switches for some other reasons, the line board acts
according to switch state bus
In normal state the first powered on XCH becomes the primary one
(the XCH with fewer slot ID becomes the primary one when powered
on simultaneously)

50
OSN 9500 cross-connectionswitching

Manual switching
Switch by command
:cfg--set--dpsswitch:PgId,DstBid;
PgId is defined as follows
41 42 slots make up group 1
43 44 slots make up group 2
45 46 slots make up group 3
Example: set the XCH hosted in 42 as primary one
:cfg--set--dpsswitch:1,42;

Switch by tiny--moving trigger

Stg sends its status information to the other boards

59
OSN 9500 clock processinghot standby

Basic principle:
Stg detects errors of its own, switching are started by itself
The relative stg detects errors, switching are started by the relative
stg

Function of stg switching

Monitor the status of itself and send the information to relative stg
Switch when received switching command from scc
Switch according to the status detected
After switching send the state information to SCC
The primary STG controls the clock synchronization of the two STG

Wiring mode inside the power distribution box

Note:
The input power supply for the two JPIUs in the subrack should be connected
to the wire posts connected with NEG1 (-) and NEG2 (-) respectively, but not
at the same time to the N1-1 (-) and N1-2 (-), or N2-1 (-) and N2-2 (-).
Otherwise, the protection to the dual lines of power supply will fail.

PIU functions
accesses and backs up two system DC power supplies
provide Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) filtering and

OSN 9500 electromechanic unitfunction

Electromechanical Information Processing Board(EMPU)

Provides +5V power to itself and MBUS system
Provides two independent voltages monitoring of the JPIU board
Monitors the board temperature and voltage
Host the server--side MBUS module, and communicate with the
client--side MBUS module hosted in the other boards, collects the
temperature and voltage information of the other boards. Power on the
boards by sequence.
Provides 16--channel alarm inputs, 2--channel alarm output
Communicate with SCC by LanSwitch
Control the audible and visual alarms on the top of the cabinet

OSN 9500 electromechanic unitfunction

EMPU function by MBUS

To prevent the instant shock at power--on moment, the boards are
powered on by sequence.
Temperature and voltage monitor of the boards, shutdown on
excessive temperature (not enabled by default)
Remote control of power--on or power--off of the boards
Monitor and switching of centralized protection for power supply

Key Power Backup Board (PBU)

Provide key power backup
Power supply for MBUS

69
electromechanic unitpower-on by sequence

Control of power--on by sequence

Control of power--on by sequence with MBUS
line boards and XCH are powered on by sequence, and the other
boards are powered on instantly
The power--on sequence are decided by slot--id: MBUS report slot--
ID to EMPU, and EMPU controls the sequence of power--on
Under condition that EMPU fails, MBUS module in the boards take
control of the sequence of power--on by slot--id

electromechanic unitkey power backup

Key power backup principle and method

The boards which have 1+1 redundancy backup is not included in
the key power backup system
MBUS are powered by both PBU and EMPU, as the hot--standby
Power switch are controlled by MBUS
Backup power only works when power unit in the board fails, they
dont supply the power together
Power switch give rise to POWER_SWITCH alarm
Maximum 3 backup power work at the same time
While Power on the subrack or hot plug the board, EMPU shut
down the backup power to prevent the coincidence with the power
unit in the board

72
electromechanic unitkey power backup

Power--on or power--off manually

:cfg--set--pwrctl:EmpuBid, DstBid, Power;
Example : power--on/power--off the board hosted in slot--2
:cfg-set-pwrctl:52,2,power--on/power--off;
Received the command, the board is power--off and EMPU reports
POWER_SWITCH alarm, then the board switched its power supply to backup power

Jumpers in the board

The boards which support the key power backup system have two
jumpers inside : one enables the primary power mode, the other
enables the backup power mode, they are both enabled by default

Features of fan unit

two fan tray assemblies are seated in the front and rear frames of the
subrack
Only one air filter in the subrack
Fan speed are controlled at four levels
EMPU and MBUS controls the fan speed
When EMPU is absent , fans rotate at full speed
It is not allowed for the equipment to work long time without fans
due to its large power consumption
