Introduction

SPAD intends to invite eligible


companies/ joint ventures/
consortiums for the Proposed
Kuala Lumpur-Klang Bus Rapid
Transit (KL-Klang BRT) Project.

Project Background

BRT is defined as Mass Transit System that mimics the rapidity


and performance of metros but utilises buses rather than rail
vehicles.

KL-Klang BRT is to be planned, designed and operate as a Full


BRT with the following characteristics: segregated, median
busways with median stations, pre-board fare collection and fare
verification, restricted services provider access (Closed System),
seamless transfer between routes and corridors, competitively
bid service concession, high frequency services and low station
dwell times, clean (Green) bus technologies and modal
integration.

KL-Klang BRT system (infrastructure, service operation and


customer experience) is to be meet the GOLD BRT Standard as
set by the Institute for Transportation Development and Policy
(ITDP)

Federal Highway (FH) in
the long term.
