Researchers tested whether a single application of a dexamethasone nanowafer (Dex-NW) could inhibit the influx of neutrophils into alkali-burned corneas in a dry eye mouse model. Histological analysis found that Dex-NW had similar or greater anti-inflammatory effects compared to conventional dexamethasone eyedrops in reducing neutrophil infiltration into the corneas.
