Company Background
Partnership between Henry
Royce, a successful engineer and
Charles Rolls, owner of one of the
UKs first motor car dealerships in
1904

In 1907, the 1907 Silver Ghost


named Best Car in the world by
critics after faultlessly completing
the 1913 Alpine Trial a 23,127
km drive through some of the
toughest mountain terrain.

During 1915 (World War 1) RR


developed the company's first
aero engine, the Eagle, and later
made up most of RR business in
1920
Company Background
Rolls-Royce Limited nationalized
in 1973 due to financial crisis of
the company when developing jet
engine, and in 1978 aircraft
engine division separated from
the company and become Rolls-
Royce plc

In 1998,Rolls-Royce Motors was


going to be sold to BMW , who
already supplied engines and
other components for Rolls-Royce,
but BMW's final offer of
340million was beaten
byVolkswagen's 430million.
Negotiation between the two
occurred.

On April 2015, it was announced


that Rolls-Royce plc had received
