Quick loading of the BTS upgraded software: The original loading mechanism is modified
to extend paths for loading the BTS upgraded software. A scenarized loading mode
including common loading, quick loading (without services), and quick loading (with the
BCCH service retained) is then formed.

Reducing upgrade time and impact on services
The timeslots for loading the BTS upgraded software are extended with the bandwidth
extended by four times. In addition, the upgrade time is reduced to 30 minutes.
The software activation procedure is optimized and the service interruption time is
reduced, thus improving customer satisfaction.

Reducing requirements on engineering skills

The one-key batch operations simplify the procedure and operation, thus reducing skill
requirements for on-site engineers.

Reducing service cost

The BTS swapping downtime is reduced, thus avoiding penalty fine due to swapping
timeout.
The BTS upgrade time is reduced, thus improving the efficiency of upgrade and
maintenance.

Scenarios

BTS deployment. BTS software version requires to be quickly upgraded in batches.

BTS maintenance. BTS software requires to be quickly loaded and activated to
reduce the impact on services.

Limitations

Only the RSL can be preempted, and the TCH cannot be preempted. If the number of
TRXs configured in the BTS is small, the extended bandwidth may be less than four
timeslots.
