THE FAMILY TREE
 WHAT IS THE ROYAL FAMILY?

The Royal Family of Spain, otherwise known as 'La

Familia Real' are the Royal Family in Power in Spain.
The Royal family consists of the current king, his wife,
their kids and the Kings parents, this is often confused
with the Family of the King, which refers to the King's
brothers and sisters, as well as the rest of his extended
family.
The Royal Family of Spain spend most of their time being
sponsors and ambassadors for charitable organizations.
 WHAT DOES LA FAMILIA REAL DO?

Believe it or not, but the Royal Family do a lot more

than look amazing all the time!
One of the main things that they do is attend
Receptions and Ceremonies with people such as
Ambassadors and political figures.
They also participate in many charity events and
some of the Royals have even started their own!
Some of the Royals are also part of the Military and
help protect their country and the people in it.
Royals also like to recognize achievements of others
and like to attend award ceremonies and events.
 KING FELIPEVI OF SPAIN

At the moment, Felipe VI is the King of Spain.

He was born on the 30th of January 1968and
was crowned King of Spain on the 19th June
2014.
The next person in line for the throne after
King Felipe VI, is his seven year old daughter
Leonor.
As she has no brothers, she is the next heir
but if she did have a brother, her brother
would be the rightful heir.
 SOFA OF GREECE

Sophia of Greece andDenmark, was born in Denmark

onNovember 2nd 1938.
She grew up in Denmark, although she studied in
Egpyt as a young girl.
Sofia spent some time with her family during World
War II in South Africa as it was considered a safe zone.
She is the wife of King Juan Carlos I.
She became the Queen conosrt of Spain during her
husbands accession in 1975.
King Juan CarlosI and Queen Sofa resigned their
throne in 2014 and gave the position to their son,
Felipe VI.
 KING JUAN CARLOS I OF SPAIN

King Juan Carlos I was born in Italy in 1938

His father is Infante Juan, Count of Barcelona
His mother is Princess Mara de as Mercedes of
Bourbon
He was the first head of state after the Spanish
Civil war, bypassing his father
He became King of Spain in 1975 and resigned
in 2014
 QUEEN LETIZIA OF SPAIN

Queen Letizia of Spain is the wife of King Felipe VI of

Spain,
She was born 15 September 1972 to a middle class family
She is a journalist and was awarded the best female
writer under 30 in 2002
In 1998 Letizia was briefly married to Alfonso Guerrero,
they divorced in 1999, the public was outraged she had a
civil ceremony instead of a Roman Catholic wedding
She is very involved in her kid's school life and brings
them to school
 PRINCESS LEONOROF SPAIN

Leonor was born on the 31st of October 2005 to King

Felipe VI and Queen Letizia
She is the next rightful heir of the Spanish throne
She started inSanta Maria de los Rosales junior school
just outside Madrid in 2008
She also holds the titles: Princess of Girona, Princess of
Viana, Duchess of Montblanc, Countess of Cervera and
Lady of Balaguer.
She supports her parents every National SpainDay's, a
national holiday.
