STEPS FOR CONCRETING

1. Batching
2. Mixing
3. Transportation
4. Placing
5. Finishing
6. Curing
1. BATCHING

The process of precise measurement of

concrete ingredients to ensure uniformity of
proportions and aggregate grading as per mix
design proportions
Batching by Volume
carried out by using wooden or steel boxes
Batching by Weight

batching plants are used more accurate

2. MIXING
After precise batching all the ingredients of
concrete are thoroughly mixed until the
concrete of uniform color and required
consistency is obtained
Manual Mixing
small construction activities
Machine Mixing
general construction works
batch mixers or continuous mixers are used
3. TRANSPORTATION

The process of transferring the concrete

from the location of mixing to the
construction site
Manual Transportation
Mechanical Transportation
4. PLACING

placed into the formwork that defines its

final position and shape.

5. FINISHING
final treatment of the concrete surface after
it has been consolidated to achieve the
desired properties
pushing a wide blade over the fresh concrete
surface to make it flat
6. CURING
The process of keeping the concrete moist or wet
for certain time period after placing and compaction
to complete the hydration process and to gain the
required strength
By wet Jute Bags
covered with wet jute bags and the bags are
periodically sprinkled with water to keep them moist
By Sprinkling Water

water is continuously sprinkled on the concrete

surfaces
By Addition of Chemicals
certain construction chemicals are added to reduce
the rate of evaporation of water from the concrete
