 INTRODUCTION
A rotary table is a mechanical device on a drilling rig that provides a rotational
force to the drill string to facilitate the process of drilling the bore hole.

 ABSTRACT
In this project we aim to the proposed system is operating the rotary stopper by using
the 2way pneumatic pump by using of air. It is use to handling the rotary stopper reduce of
human help. The more time is saving to this type of the project. The mechanical parts are
used here for driving operation. The ultimate aim of our project is to lock the rotary table
rotation by using the pneumatic cylinder. The pneumatic cylinder runs with help of
pneumatic power.
 ROTARY TABLE

prevent from burning and seizing.

The Kelly along with the pipe and drilling bit is rotated by a rotor known as rotary table. It
is a circular table in the derrick floor that is turned clock wise by the prime movers. If it where
turned in the opposite direction, the drill pipe would unscrew.
 CARBON STEEL

Carbon steel, also called plain-carbon steel, is a metal alloy, a combination of two elements,
iron and carbon, where other elements are present in quantities too small to affect the properties.

The only other alloying elements allowed in plain-carbon steel are manganese (1.65% max),
silicon (0.60% max), and copper (0.60% max). Steel with a low carbon content has the same
properties as iron, soft but easily formed. As carbon content rises the metal becomes harder and
stronger but less ductile and more difficult to weld.

In this D.C motor and gear box are attached in between the pneumatic break drum are placed.

D.C motor is rotating at the speed of 900HP per minute.

In this pneumatic drum are used for the one type of brake system in rotary table.

The reduction gear box is used to reduce the required speed of rotary table rotation and the
reduction gear box is are used for the next end of the rotary shaft are coupled with the rotary
shaft.

D.C motor is main part of the drive system

Almost every mechanical movement that we see around us is accomplished by an electric
motor.
Motors take electrical energy and produce mechanical energy.
Huge motors that can take loads of 1000s of Horsepower are typically used in the industry.
Its drive the whole drive system. It is rotating at 900HP per minute. D.c motor is coupled
with the reduction gear box.

frequently used.
It becomes a major job to repair those in the field.
Bolt-on-style brake drums are better.
Material may be selected from cast iron, forged alloy steel, or fabricated mild steel.
A band brake must be self-energized. If the wire line is wound up backwards, you will not
be able to hold of the load.
Internal brakes in winches are for one direction only.
Now try your brake to hold the load. If it doesnt, you have internal brake problems.

A reduction gear is a arrangement by which a input speed can be reduced for a requirement
slower output speed, with same or more output torque.
Reduction gear box consists of set of rotating gear connected to a hub.
