1) What is the best method(s) of obtaining information about this
applicant? Explain.

Background check from the social media to understand better


on his routine habits, behavior and personal characteristics.
Background check on his first company, which he been working
for 6 years, longer service period.
Find information through known-personnel or friends which are
working in Universal.
Question 2:
2) What are the best characteristics to look for in this applicant
that suit the nature of the job? Explain.

Having capability and experience to do creative accounting.


Having capability to help company to carry-out saving and
boost revenues / profits.
Leadership capability, to lead various sub-sections in Finance
department.
To show loyalty and honesty for the employing company.
Question 3:
3) What is the best interview technique(s) would you choose to
use during the interview? Explain.

Personality test, to understand better of his good traits (i.e.


dependable, organized, trust, achievement-oriented).
Later, carry-out situational interview. Provide a few simulated
case problems to him. Evaluate his method/opinion/reasoning
to overcome it.
Question 4:
4) Given the opportunity to hire this applicant, would you choose
to hire or not to hire him? Why?

HIRE
If he can fulfil all above mention interview test successfully.
He is familiar and able to fit into the organization culture, as he
been working in similar industry.
Able to handle the work pressure, as he understands well with
existing similar accounting procedures and workflow.
However, it is unethical to employ immediately from own
competitor company, as one may disclose former company
confidential information.
