GGP Hardware MTP Contingency Plan
GTS 7.2 Path to Production for hardware MTP

GGD GGT - Old GGQ GGP- Old

(DEV) (Test) (QA) (PROD)

GGP - New
Contingency:
(PROD)
GGP will be brought down at the beginning of
hardware cutover (see cutover plans for
details)
DNS will switch pointer to new hardware
Go-no-Go decision will be made
If Decision is no-go, then switch DNS
back to old GGP hardware and allow
users back on. No data loss. Only
impact would be the down time and
failure to complete the upgrade.
If Decision is to go, then users will be
allowed on new hardware and
processing will proceed.

Summary: If we fail on the cutover, then our

3) Will publish the rough backlog numbers on these systems roughly every one
hour post upgrade
Will continue until backlog is at a normal amount. (expected to be cleared out within a few hours)
4) All remaining interface to GTS will be validated to ensure data is flow as

Approach to test case selection
Scope:
Not testing all combinations of Plant, Shipping Point, Ship-From Country, Ship-To Country, Order
Type, Buy/Sell relationship
Selecting for:
Major representative flows
Specific order scenarios (CTO, KMAT, bundles)
GTS Functionalities
All up-streams systems, declaration creation, compliance, data accuracy, Import/Export,
master data, security and roles, Portal, messages, reference systems

Test Case sources for Customs and GT:

Current GTS test box activity, IT generated reports from the source test systems, BU inputs,
Regional Ops inputs, ad hoc source system reports, concurrent projects test cases (e.g. FAPJ
upgrade)

Approach to test case generation
Options
Cancel and re-bill existing IC billing on test system
Benefits Customs testing but not Compliance testing
Cloning of existing test cases
Benefits both Customs and Compliance testing, reduces BU setup work
E2E order creation
Benefits both Customs and Compliance testing, requires BU setup work

Method selection:
If source system supports cancel/re-bill and scenario not to be tested by GT: utilize cancel/re-bill
Otherwise use a combination of Cloning and E2E
