storm, its probability and
impact
Analyses data from news portals to
know latest happenings and
reverts back to client
Receives and analyses
historical data from
various sources to

IoT in India
IoT market in India is poised to reach USD 15 billion by 2020
accounting for nearly 5 percent of the total global market
Over USD 1 billion investment commitment by the Indian
Government on building 100 smart cities every year for the next 5
years
With nearly 120 firms offering solutions in IoT segment, 70 % of
IoT start-ups have emerged since 2010
Investors are showing a keen interest in a number of startups with
cumulative investment of around > USD 60 million since 2014

How will be the Impact of Cloud Computing on Supply Chain?
Forecasting and Planning:

Cloud-based plat-forms assist companies to improve their service levels by

coordinating the supply chain networks partners (retailers, suppliers and
distributors) that play pivotal role in demand fore-casting.
These platforms can gather sales data via internet, perform basic analytics and
consequently execute more accurate statistical demand forecasts for all the supply
chain participants

Sourcing and Procurement:

Cloud base data helps to gather data about different suppliers, creating benefit for
companies.
This helps companies to understand suppliers abilities and analyze their
performance and accordingly place orders in future transactions.

Logistics:
Cloud computing will be useful for
inventory, warehouse and transportation
management, due to its tracking
operations to multiple supply chain
partners.
Processes such as replenishment planning,
order processing, fleet management,
transportation route planning as well as
global trade compliance can migrate to the
cloud.
3PL companies will see a huge positive
impact in terms of Warehouse
management and all in one platform and
one cloud.

Service and Spare Parts Management. :

Cloud computing gives the opportunity to
companies to integrate forward logistics
with reverse logistics in the same closed-
loop supply chain model.
Tracking ability and analysis will optimize
the benifits

Challenges in IoT
Disposal of E-waste
Due to continual industrialisation
there has been an exponential
increase in e-waste

Lack of Security Lack of Privacy

Sensor nodes increase your Manufacturers and governments
threat surface alike can harvest information
. about the user

Storage Issues Increase in Demand

With an increase in data and for Energy
multiple sensors the need for Meeting the energy demand
storage is extremely high will be very difficult despite
green sources
6/17/17 23
Current Trends
Service is paramount- For
every piece of hardware a
company is attempting to
transform it into a service
Titans that conquer every
aspect of IOT
Transportation Connected
cars are a top IOT device
Retail beacons paired with
mobile apps are being utilized
to monitor consumer
behaviour
6/17/17 24
Manufacturing 35% of
manufacturers already use
smart sensors
Banks Over 3 million ATMs
were installed globally in 2015
(World Bank)
Smart meters Around
313million are already
installed in homes worldwide
Hospitality 31% of hotels
use next generation door
locks, 33% have room control
devices, 16% have connected
TVs and 15% use connected
beacons throughout the hotel

Future Trends
Data collection will move to cloud using algorithms to optimise the
operations of a machine
Hiring will continue to be a challenge for IOT due to the lack of
security professionals
There will be an exponential increase in the production of IOT
products
IOT products will have a service component. E.g. Amazon echo
Startups will be extremely influential as they are more in tune with
the plight of the average person
Spending on drones will reach $8.7 billion by 2020
Uniformity with respect to standards will be hard to attain
Paradigm shift with respect to automation. E.g. Teslas Elon Musk
promised that by 2017 a car without the need for a human driver will
be ready
