Grade level teams all in one school
All students in one grade level receive the same
content/delivery and done with more fidelity
Common assessments easier to manage and implement
Vertical alignment easier to ensure
Easier to compare student data and adjust instruction

Intervention blocks or Power Hours could be added
Reading Specialists/interventionists focused on being
preventative in K-2
Instructional Coach provides content area support in grades

Better utilize support staff (ELL, counselor, speech therapist,

Things to consider:
Transportation (busing, drop off, pick up)
Parent push back due to inconvenience
Students with IEPs or At-Risk may experience stress
during initial transition
Loss of mentoring among students (older to younger)
Childcare/after school programs, one child care option
after school in one building?
CI and ASD students need access to Gen. Ed population

Gather input from staff, students and community members
Eliminate as much parental inconvenience as possible
Build on the positives...focus on student achievement, student
growth, and closing the gap
Provide opportunities for teachers, administrators, and Board
of Education members to visit other K-2 and 3-5
programs
