Mission
The goals of this project are:
to gauge the current use of teacher technology
use in the classroom.
to provide organized access to technology tools
for teachers to use.
to provide professional development
opportunities to teachers based on their wants
and needs for technology use in the classroom.
Data Collection
Survey to determine teacher technology use
and desired use.
Interviews with technology personnel to
determine areas of need and suggestions
Research to establish a database of
technology tools to be used in the classroom
and at home
Data
Small response from teachers (only 16% of
teachers completed survey).
Those who responded were most interested in
using technology for assessments and using BYOD
activities in class.
Technology team members felt that we should
take our time in developing this program before
implementing it, because similar initiatives have
failed in the past due to poor planning/rushing.
Resource created
I created an interactive database of
technology tools, and organized them by
content, 5 Cs, and purpose.
This is a beginner list, and more items will be
added as teachers begin to teach some of the
technology apps and tools.
Next Steps
In-service Day breakout session using BYOD
survey app to gauge which teachers would be
willing to teach lessons on various tech tools.
By the beginning of 2nd semester, the tech.
team and I will meet to compile data and put
group of teachers together.
By 2017-2018 school year, we will have a
monthly prof. development training on
different tech. tools.
