Areconfigurable antennaisanantennacapableofmodifyingdynamicallyits

Inordertoprovideadynamicalresponse,reconfigurableantennasintegrate
aninnermechanism(suchasRFswitches,varactors,mechanicalactuatorsor
tunablematerials)thatenabletheintentionalredistributionoftheRF
currentsovertheantennasurfaceandproducereversiblemodificationsover
itsproperties.
Reconfigurableantennasdifferfromsmartantennasbecausethe
reconfigurationmechanismliesinsidetheantennaratherthaninan
externalbeamformingnetwork.
