Cancelled warm-up water inlet&outlet hoses of ETC (Electronic Throttle Control).



Due to cancellation of ETC warm-up, so water inlet pipe on cylinder head assy is cancelled,
and there is no water inlet pipe mounting hole on cylinder head.

Engine Body ---- Aluminum Alloy Cylinder Body

Open water jacket The advantages of cast iron include the large intensity
and stiffness and the low price. The aluminum
cylinder body is light and with good heat dissipation
ability. Since the specific gravity of aluminum alloy is
small, it is usually used to cast the cylinder body and
the upper crank box, which will be about 30% lighter
than those cast by cast iron. And the aluminum engine
body is more convenient for machine work. However,
in comparison with the cast iron, the aluminum alloy
is with less intensity, higher price, and especially the
poorer stiffness. In addition, the aluminum alloy
performs more actively in expansion and contraction.
The main problem is the high cost. So the aluminum
alloy of AlSi, which is with the best casting property,
is adopted for this engine body. In order to increase
the stiffness of the main bearing cover, the cast iron is
adopted as the material. Considering that the

Tightening Sequence of Main Bearing Cover



According to the sequence in the figure,
tighten the bolts of main bearing cover from
the middle to the both sides, and adopt the
angle tightening method to fix the bolts.

Connecting Rod

The connecting rod is an integrated cracking connecting rod. The cracking section positioning is accurate and
able to provide a higher binding force. While ensuring the intensity, the thickness of connecting rod is less
and the weight is lighter. So that the motion resistance is reduced, and the power performance and
economical efficiency are promoted.

The tightening torque of connecting rod bolt: 131Nm + 90~94 Pay attention to the
method of 5Nm10Nm13Nm +45+45, and conduct the alternate tightening
according to it. The connecting rod bolt can only be used once and can not be reused. Over-
tightening will break the connecting rod bolt.

Intake Manifold






This intake manifold is of high-pressure
casting, and can be divided into 3 parts
including the upper housing, the
intermediate housing and the lower housing,
which are integrated into a whole by
vibration welding. The plastic intake
manifold is with light weight and compacted
structure. The inner wall of the intake pipe is
smooth and able to effectively lower the
flow loss and enhance the inflation
efficiency.

Stainless steel welding + tight
coupling


The stainless steel exhaust pipe is light and with
small heat capacity. It lowers the pollutant
emission. The small exhaust resistance lowers
the exhaust back pressure of engine. The
stainless steel is adopted in the welding of
exhaust manifold. Because every exhaust
manifold has the same length, the exhaust back
pressure of each exhaust pipe is the same; the
inner wall of stainless steel exhaust manifold is
very smooth, the exhaust resistance is very
small.


The exhaust manifold is placed at the rear part to further reduce the overall emission.
The tight coupling catalyst has reduced the heat capacity of Level-1 catalytic convertor
to the maximum limit. The exhaust warms fast and further lowers the engine start
emission.

Lubrication System

The engine oil enters the main oil passage after being filtered by the filter. Separate the main oil passage into
5 routes to conduct lubrication to each main journal. And then the engine oil lubricates the connecting rod
journal through the oblique oil passage of the crankshaft main journal and the connecting rod journal.


The engine oil of the other route goes up and enters into the oil passage of cylinder cover through the bolt
hole of the intermediate cylinder cover, conducts forced lubrication to the valve mechanism, and then flows
back to the oil pan through the oil drain holes at last.

The engine oil pump is directly driven by the crankshaft. It is composed of an inner rotor
and an outer rotor. The inner rotor is assembled eccentrically to enlarge the entrance space
and narrow the exit space to pressure and deliver the fuel.

It is needed to do tooth-learning under the following situations:

Electronic Throttle Initialization

To make the system running well, it is necessary to initialize the program so


as to read the maximum openning and closing position of throttle.

It is needed to do throttle slef-learning under the following situations:


ECU Replaced ECU
Repaired the throttle body while malfunction
Replaced electronic throttle
ECU Reprogammed the ECU data

How to initialize the electronic throttle?


Connect all wire harness connectors
Turn he ignition switch to "ON" position and keep at least 10 seconds

During this 10s, do not turn off ignition switch, do not press acceleration pedal

POWER LATCH
Turn off the ignition switch and keep 15 seconds, the initialization parameters of
electronic throttle shall be input into EEPROM, this is call POWER LATCH.

During driving, sometimes the engine will be shaking or even flame-out, meanwhile
engine malfunction lamp is lit on with DTC P0026 (VVT solenoid valve is blocked), after
checking found that there is some black plastic material on the valve.

Taking Measures

Remove oil pan and check engine oil
passage.

Replace the plastic oil filter, replace
valve cover and oil strainer.

Replace engine oil and oil filter, clean VVT pressure-adjusting
valve, and then after checking, the malfunction is also exist.

Where is the black plastic come from? Oil filter?Cylinder head cover?Sealing glue?

OCVConclusion: The sealing plastic in VCP is ageing and
broken into small plastic pieces, so small pieces will flow into OCV valve together with

Unstable Idling Speed

Phenomenon: Engine speed fluctuation with unstable idlin speed.


Reasons
Air intake system
1. Intake manifold or related valve leakage

Extra air, fuel vapor, exhaust gas get into intake manifold, so that mixture gas will be over rich
or too thin and result in abnormal burning. When air/gas leakage affacting some cylinder,
engine will be shaking seriously with unstable ilding speed. Probable reasons: Manifold clamp
loosening, gasket leakage, intake manifold pipeline with hole, injector O ring leakage, vacuum
pipe crack, PCV valve big opening degree, canister valve always open.
2. Throttle or intake passage too dirty
3. Idling air control actuator problem
4. Incorrect airflow quantity

ECU received wrong signal and give a wrong command, so that cause incorrect airflow control.
Reason: IMAP sensor or wire harness, ECU connector or interior failure.

1. 1. Fuel injector failure: blocking or bad sealing

pumping, fuel pump relief valve spring force is too small, fuel pipe blocking or distortion.

Ignition System
1. 1. Ignition coil or spark plug problem

3. Other reason: three-way catalytic convertor blocking, A/C or HPS can increase idling load.
Mechanical Structure

1. Valve machnism: too much carbon on valve seat,
valve sealing not good, camshaft/push rod/rocker arm broken, valve spring broke.

rod machnism: gasket burn-out caused leakage, piston ring clearance too big, roundness and
cylindricity error, connecting rod be curved, cumbustion chamber carbon deposit.

short time parking, and difficult start while a long time parking, after swithc on many times, engine
is started, then after checking: idling speed is normal, but oxygen sensor signal is too high.

connecting is normal, use scanner can not read DTC, then inspect the system fuel pressure, the

Engine Anti-theft System

Overview

Engine anti-theft system is used to


realize anti-theft function by building two
electronic encryptions between
transponder-IMMO and IMMO-ECM.
When IMMO passed wireless
authentication by transponder, then it
will communicate with ECM by wired
authentication, if passed, ECM can
realize ignition and injection, otherwise,
the engine can not start, so that to
realize anti-theft by electronic
encryption to keep the vehicle be more
safety and reliable.

Indicator Control Strategy

IMMO3 OFF5

Indicator of IMMO has 3 flashing modes: Connect the battery of vehicle and insert the key on
the "OFF" position of ignition switch, the indicator will be flashing every 5 seconds with
250ms continiously on.
ON
Turn the key to "ON" position, if anti-theft system certificated successfully, indicator will be
off and keep in darkness.
0.5250ms
If certification failure, the indicator will be flashing every 0.5 seconds with 250ms
continiously on, the engine can not start.

If certification failure and engine can not start, please contact with techinician to ask for
doing system diagnosis.
Anti-theft System Key Parameters

1.Secret Key: This code is brought by the immobilizer which is produced by random on line.
2.Transponder ID: This code is brought by the password transponder after its off-line.
3.VIN: This code is brought by the vehicle after its offline.
4.PIN: This code is calculated out based on vehicle VIN code through a special programm.
Password Verification Steps

1.Turn the ignition switch to "ON" position, then the Immobilizer controller is awakened up,
engine ECU will be initializing.
2. Immobilizer controller will recognize with password transponder each other.
3. After the vertification between IMMO and Tranponder was passed, immobilier controller will
recognize the engine ECU by the code.
4. After the vertification between IMMO and ECU was passed, then engine ECU will allow to
start the engine and the anti-theft warning lamp on combination meter will be off, otherwise
the system will get into fuel cut-off mode, and there is anti-theft alarming.
