Business Overview

Have you ever been up between midnight and 4am and

craved something sweet to eat?
If you are awake during these hours studying, your body has already
processed your sugars for the day so you need to boost those sugar
levels
71% of young adults hunger for a midnight snack
If you have ever been in your dorm room, apartment, or
house and desired that snack we are here to help you.
With the knowledge and skill of our group, baking is a passion
We have always wanted to open a bakery since childhood
Business Overview (cont.)

Our business proposal is to start a cupcake business where

customers can get cupcakes any time they want them.
We will have a cupcake vending machine on campus at UW
Madison.
The bakery to produce these will be located in Madison but
there will be no store front.
We will provide sweet treats to consumers at the tip of their
fingers.
In the future we would like to expand our business to hotels in
the Dells and the outlet mall. We would also like to get a few
more locations in Madison.
Mission of Business
Being a leader in sweet gratification is our way of life. To
maintain our leadership, we will be champions of the cupcake
experience expanding its pleasures to all parts of the day at all
times of the day. We commit to create a constantly evolving and
extraordinary line of great-tasting, high quality cupcakes.

Above all, we are dedicated to creating a rewarding environment

so our customers, suppliers and co-workers will want to
participate in achieving mutual success. By continuing to
conduct ourselves with the utmost integrity and by anticipating
the best interest of these valued people, our companys sweet
success will be definite.
Company Values
Specialize in made from scratch cupcakes created with the
highest grade ingredients.
Take pride in our commitment to tradition, quality, and
passion for baking
Make purchasing an experience not just a process
Our cupcakes not only look good, but we strive to make them
a treat customers continue to crave after they take the last
bite.
Being a team player and do whatever it takes to stay together
and achieve team goals.
Competitive Analysis
There are currently no providers of this type of service in the
state of WI.
Current locations of our competitor are: NY, IL, TN, GA, TX, AZ,
NV, and CA

There are bakeries that make cupcakes in Madison, Gigis

being the most popular.
Gigis Cupcakes does have a food cart during the summer but not year
around.
Marketing Plan
Offerings

We will start a Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter page for our business.
These are no cost and we will invite friends and family to like and share
We will run radio commercials on Madison radio stations and surrounding
areas.
Nielsen Report shows that 77% of adults tune into radio advertising on AM/FM
radio stations.
Peak listening times are commute to work, lunch time, and commute home from
work.
Cost for radio commercials in Madison run between $ 900 and $1200 weekly
These costs are based on advertising with a top performing radio station using a
schedule that includes 15 Monday Friday spots and 4 weekend spots.
Create flyers to distribute to campus employees and students.
Cost for 1000 copies would be $23.67 to distribute in the area
Operations
The bakery will be located just off the
beltline near Odana Rd.
There will be no storefront location,
rather just the baking location there
Our vending machine will be located on the UW Campus in
Madison near the Gordon Dining and Event Center
We will fill the machine every day at 7am and 5pm
We will use our own vehicles to drive to the vending machine
to restock.
As Cupped Cakes grows we will look into purchasing a company
vehicle.

Human Resource Requirements
We will be the employees of our company.
We will continue to work our regular job as well.
As the company grows and the demand to work more hours
comes, we will re-evaluate the staffing needs at that time.
Hours employees will work when the business opens
2 employees every day will work 5 hours. Will start baking at 3am and
work 5 hours. The second employee will come in at 5am to begin the
decorating process and they will then work for 5 hours. This will be 7
days a week.
Schedules 1 employee 3am 8am, second employee 5am 10am
Vending machine will be filled at 7am and at 5pm
Financial Projections
We project starting out we can sell 150 cupcakes a day
The cost of each cupcake will be $4.00
The landlord pays the insurance for the bakery location
We would be responsible for rent and
utilities
Insurance on our business will run us $102.67
Driving to refill the machine will be mileage reimbursement

Additional Business Opportunities
As we dont have a store front, we are willing to take orders
for specialty events
These could include birthday parties, wedding showers, baby showers
Price would be determined based on the needs of the customer
Here are some pictures of things we could make
This would be by request and determined at time of request whether
we could accomplish the project
