2 Commissioning Modes
This chapter describes how to commission the DBS3900 IBS on the LMT or U2000.
Prerequisites
l Equipment status and environment requirements
All equipment and cables are installed. For details about the installation operations, see
DBS3900 IBS Hardware Installation Guide and LampSite Installation Guide, which is
available at http://support.huawei.com.
l Network status
The DBS3900 IBS is connected to a radio network, or the signal generator and spectrum
analyzer are available.
You can use DBS3900 IBS LMT to upgrade software, download the data configuration file, and
check operating status of the DBS3900 IBS. Then, use the U2000 server to remotely establish
an OMCH between the U2000 and the DBS3900 IBS.
1.Commissioning Process
This section describes how to commission DBS3900 IBS using the LMT.
2. Preparations
Before LMT-based commissioning, collect information about the DBS3900 IBS and ensure that
commissioning tools are ready, and properly configure the FTP server.
3.Downloading and Activating DBS3900 IBS Software and Data Configuration File on the
LMT
Use the DBS3900 IBS to download and activate the version software and data configuration
file. The software and configured data take effect after the DBS3900 IBS resets.
3.2 Preparations
Before LMT-based commissioning, collect information about the DBS3900 IBS and ensure that
commissioning tools are ready, and properly configure the FTP server.
Procedure
Step 1 Collect the required DBS3900 IBS information, as listed in Table 3-2.
----End
Prerequisites
l The LMT properly communicates with the DBS3900 IBS.
l The FTP server operates properly. It is configured in the same network segment with the
DBS3900 IBS and connects correctly to the DBS3900 IBS.
l Specific directories are readable for users of the FTP server.
l No firewall is configured between the FTP server and the DBS3900 IBS.
Background
The version software can be obtained from http://support.huawei.com/. The version software
has been saved in a specified folder on the FTP server and enabled with the digital signature
function. Therefore, if an exception, such as corruption, occurs on the software packet, the system
will display a message and prompt you to obtain a correct software version.
Before downloading software and the data configuration file, the DBS3900 IBS automatically
detects the DRH model to ensure that appropriate software will be downloaded.
The data configuration file name is case sensitive, and the name format is Cfg.xml. A data
configuration file contains configuration information about the system boards, subbands, and
cells. If any information is missing, configure it following the descriptions in DBS3900 IBS
Initial Configuration Guide. Then, run the BKP CFGFILE command to back up the information
and run the ULD CFGFILE command to save the information to the local computer.
Procedure
Step 1 In the MML tab page of the LMT, run the LST VER command to query the serving version of
the DBS3900 IBS.
If... Then...
The serving software version is the target Download and activate the data configuration
version file.
The serving software version is not the target Download and activate the version software
version and data configuration file.
Step 2 Download and activate the version software and data configuration file.
