Genesis 1:1-2
New King James Version (NKJV)
In the beginning God created the heavens and the
earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty,
darkness was over the surface of the deep, and
the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
Looking into the nature of atoms, creation is
clearly seen. When God created, He brought
order to the universe even in the smallest
things, for God is not the author of
confusion. (1 Corinthians 14:33)
VOCABULARY

GROUP: 3 students.
Metacognition
Recommendations for students:
Students will conduct an experiment on the changes and
properties of matter and the changes they have
experienced in their Christian life in class, not at home
Students must present the title of the experiment, the
materials to be used, and the description of this
The central idea of each experiment must have an
explanation, and / or biblical application.
Due date: 2nd week of August
Matter experiment
THE ATOM
The atom is the basic building block for all matter in the
universe. Atoms are extremely small and are made up of a
few even smaller particles. The basic particles that make
up an atom are electrons, protons, and neutrons. Atoms fit
together with other atoms to make up matter. It takes a lot
of atoms to make up anything.
Structure of the Atom At the center of the atom is the
nucleus. The nucleus is made up of the protons and
neutrons. The electrons spin in orbits around the outside
of the nucleus.
The Proton :
The proton is a positively charged particle that is located
at the center of the atom in the nucleus.
The Electron :
The electron is a negatively charged particle that spins
around the outside of the nucleus. Electrons spin so fast
around the nucleus. Electrons are attracted to the
nucleus by the positive charge of the protons. Electrons
are much smaller than neutrons and protons.
Solid,
Liquid
Gas
SOLID
Definite Shape.
Definite Volume.
Particles close together, fixed.
Little free space between particles
Does not flow easily
rigid - particles cannot move/slide past
one another
LIQUID
Changes of matter.
