with Annette Vallon, the mother of his first daughter, Caroline.
Before her birth he had to attend to matters back in England,
where he met Samuel Coleridge and co-wrote the Lyrical Ballads.
Not long after, Wordsworth had married Mary Hutchinson, with
whom he had 5 children. Wordsworth had been named Poet
Laureate of England in 1843. In 1850, Wordsworth had been put
to rest, while his work still shown through as the start of early
romanticism.

the fourth month in 1783. In his early years, Irving took to writing
essays for the Morning Chronicle under the pen name of Jonathan
Oldstyle. He then took to writing humorous essays and satirical
works after a burst of creativity. Later Irving became the editor

1812. Irving travelled to England in 1815 for family matters, yet
ended up composing the Sketch Book, holding two of his most

From 1829 to 1832, Irving served as the Secretary for the U.S.
Legation of London. Irving had traveled all around starting in

year of 1799. When he was fifteen he had written and published his

poem, Ruslan and Midela, in 1820. Later, he became interested in
social reform and became a spokesman for literary radicals, which
angered the government. Soon after, he was cast out of the capital,
only to become a freemason and a traveler. Pushkin then received
wide acclaim for romantic poetry, one of them being The Fountain of
Bakhchisaray. In 1830, Pushkin had married Natalia Goncharova and
was admitted to court. In 1836 his reputation was taking a turn for
the worst, when his brother-in-law sought after his wife and a duel
was proposed. Pushkin died from his wounds acquired from the duel

Compare and Contrast

William Wordsworth and his love affairs had led him to another poet,
inspiring and further bringing out his romanticized genius. He mostly
wrote about a rather peaceful setting in the Boy of Winander.
Washington Irving was rather found of humorous works, which
eventually led into romanticized pieces and those of a dark context. The
Legend of Sleepy Hollow romanticized the supernatural and things of the
unknown, compared to the other two authors.
Alexander Pushkin had experienced many things in life, especially that
of his wifes love affair, which all led to his ingenuity on romanticism. In
The Fountain of Bakhchisaray, Pushkin poured out his emotions and
pulled from his realistic experiences in the process. While his was more
of an emotional twist from the others, they all can be compared in the
sense that they do in fact let their experiences in life influence their
work.
