Mission Statement of STAR

The mission of the STAR program is to


offer developmental support of students
as they pursue academic recovery and
explore personal growth
Clientile
Primarily for academically suspended students who either:
Appealed their suspension and was approved, and will be returning
the following semester, or
Either appealed the suspension and it was not approved, or chose not
to appeal; sat out for the designated suspension period, and have been
readmitted.

STAR also meets with students who are on academic probation, but
are not required to submit an academic appeal, but may have
submitted a financial aid appeal.
Voluntarily is OK as Well

Students who are in good standing


may also participate in the STAR
Program VOLUNTARILY!
Intake Process
Meet with STAR Counselor
Complete the LASSI (Learning and Study Strategies Inventory),
and CSEI (College Self-Efficacy Inventory) Assessments
Discuss future goals
Normally takes 1 hour
Group or Individual?

Group: Students will be sorted into groups based on


focused areas in need of improvement
This process will be determined during the Intake Process.

Individual: Students have the option to attend


individual sessions or group, or both.
