Indian Automobile Industry
It is the seventh largest and the second
fastest growing industry in the world.
It accounts for almost 5.2% of the GDP
Almost 2.5 million units of automobiles
are generated every year.
India is ASIAs fourth largest exporter in
the automobile segment.
Why MIS in Automobile Industry?
Inventory Management
Helps in monitoring various projects
simultaneously and thus helps us reduce
time.
Integration of various other departments
to one standard database.
Reduction of errors and operational
visibility.
Real time information access by improved
CRM.

Founded in 1981 as Maruti Udyog Limited
and was a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor
Corporation of Japan.
Initially the GOI had 76% stakes in the
company and Suzuki had only 24% stakes.
By 2007, GOI sold all its stakes to Indian
Financial Institutions and is no longer a
partner in it.
Today the company generates an turnover
of almost 4 billion $.

Hyperion
Hyperion was the software which was
developed by Oracle and was used to
maintain financial transactions of the
company.
This was a huge success as it was easily
integrated with the system and followed
the standard accounting principles.
This software proved to be a great
success in the financial field of Maruti
Suzuki.
Oracle Purchasing
This was implemented by Maruti to
manage the procurement of capital
goods, services, and indirect
consumables.
This process helped in centralizing the
data, unlike the previous method where
excel was used to maintain records and
could not be accessed by everyone.
This helps in saving time as one
department may not have to approach
other departments and can directly have
the data required.
Oracle Human Resources

This software controlled various aspects of HR like

recruitment, payroll, compensation management,
etc.
The details of each and every employee are stored in
the data base, from where the HR staff could access
the complete work history and profile.
This ensured that the employees received proper
training and in case of vacancy which employee had
to be promoted.
This software allowed the staff of HR to focus on
performance assessment and staff development.
Customer Interaction System
Also known as the C.I.S, this facilitates
the recording of the customer data
The data is collected by the agent and
processed into the system
The daily inquiries are fed into the
system and appointments with the
customers are fixed
Dealer Management System
Now, the data that is collected by various
dealers is processed in the D.M.S.
DMS keeps a record of the enquiry, until
and unless the enquiry is not converted or
closed.
For a company which is oriented towards
customer satisfaction, DMS is a major
tool.
