Introduction

Hand gestures are used for different purposes in our daily life

Traffic Warden using An Army Officer using Mute people uses hand
hand gestures for hand gesture for gesture as sign language
controlling the traffic commanding for communicating
Introduction (Contd.)

Often our hands are involved in communicating

with electronic devices.
For example in case of computers, keyboard &
other input devices, which are operated by hands.
Introduction (Contd.)

When we get tired or frustrated, mostly we make

hand gestures to tell electronic devices what do
we want.
Introduction (Contd.)

We want to, but electronic devices dont understand.

Because they do not have brain to understand our hand
gestures.
What & How to Do?
Question arises
How to make Man to Machine Communication in a Natural Way?
How to make devices understand our hand gestures?
Idea of Sensorized Glove

Idea of a Glove appeared.

The glove can be used to give our hand gestures some
technical meanings.
First ever such glove was developed in 1977 by Thomas.
Smart Glove

It can be used to control different devices at

the hint of our gestures.
Hence making the interaction with devices in a
natural way.
Can be used for different purposes like
o Control of various devices.
o Sign Language translation.
o Controller for E-Gamings.
o Interacting with Robots.
Translation of sign language into
speech
This project is about smart glove which will help hearing impaired
people to communicate with normal human beings more easily.
Our project is based on this newly adopted technology whereby the
user will wear smart glove to communicate by hand gestures.
What does it do?
It records data related to a persons hand gestures.
Processes that data.
Transmit the commands related to hand gestures through Bluetooth.
Consists of two Units
Transmitting Unit (Glove)
Receiving Unit (smart phone)

Used in a voltage divider circuit so that
Arduino can sense it.
Transmitting Unit (Contd.)
Accelerometer
Consists of Variable Capacitors
Gives the orientation of device to which it is attached
Influenced by the Gravitation Acceleration
Voltage Increases on axis which is pulled by g
ADXL 335 model is used in our project

Applications of Glove Based system

It is used for virtual architecture.

To control the mobility of robot.
Gloves can be used as console for games.
As alternates of motion analyses system
