The electronic autocollimator is a high
precision angle measurement instrument
capable of measuring angular deviations
with accuracy in terms of nanoseconds.

The system has a light source followed by
a projection reticule.
The light source is LED(670nm). After
passing through the beam splitter, the light
enters the objective lens where it is
collimated, i.e., single focal length.
The projected collimated light is back
reflected by a mirror and captured by the
objective lens.
Deviation of the mirror by an amount X
causes deviation on the original line of sight
by an amount of 2X.
If focal length is denoted by F, then
mirrors deviation is determined by = X/2F

Flatness
defines a zone
between two
parallel planes
within which a
surface must lie.

The flatness tolerance should lie

between this zone.

The Lapmaster Flatness Gauges provides
a quick, reliable method of inspecting lap
plates, polishing plates, surface plates and
other large surfaces for flatness.
The Flatness Gauge determines flatness
by measuring the deviation from a straight
line on a plane determined by the gauge
body.
This deviation, convex or concave, is then
read directly in .0001 increments on a dial
indicator (digital indicators also available).

Roundness is defined as a condition of a
surface of revolution. All points of the
surface are intersected by any plane
perpendicular to a common axis in case of
cylinder and cone.
