Degrees of Adjectives that show
comparison
1. Positive Degree
The base form of the adjectives.

Example:
The teacher is kind
2. Comparative Degree
- Used to compare two persons, places,
things, or ideas.
- Adjectives usually ends with -er and the word
than indicates comparison.
Example:
I'm taller than you.
3. Superlative Degree
- Used when 3 or more are being compare
- Usually ends with -est or includes the phrase
the most, the least, the best etc.

Example:
Mango is the sweetest fruit that I have tasted.

1. Addition of the suffixes -er for


comparative and -est for superlative to
most one syllable adjectives.
