Israel, land of the Bible and

historical homeland of the Jewish
people, is situated in the Middle
East, along the east coast of the
Mediterranean Sea, forming part
of a terrestrial bridge between
three continents: Asia, Africa and
Europe.
 With a population of almost 9 million inhabitants, the majority of which
are Jewish, Israel is the only Jewish State of the world. It is also the
home of Moslem Arabs, Christians, Druzes and Samaritans, as well as
other religious and ethnic minority groups.
