The Romantic Period authors connected with nature in a way that almost
seemed unnatural yet rejuvenate their readers. An important factor of some
Romantic Period authors is a writing form they shared. Romantic authors
wrote in poetry form. In whatever they form they wrote, the impression they
left behind created a momentum that still inspires todays authors.
The Victorian Period was named after Queen Victoria (1837-1901). This
literary event precede the Romantic Period and lasted sixty-four years.
Authors used this period to create heroes, heroines, and classic novels. One
of the biggest names to come out of the Victorian Period is Charles Dickens.
Big classics such as A Tale of Two Cities and A Christmas Carol brought to
life memorable characters that still remain popular today.
The trend of Gothic genre continues onto the Victorian Period. Authors such
as Emily Bronte, Charlotte Bronte, and Anne Bronte wrote in Gothic tones.
