 CustomerEdge/PartnerEdge Client Upgrade

What is it:
This is a patch provided by Application Vendor – Oracle/Siebel and will enable the user community
to use Microsoft IE7 browser to access Siebel applications (CustomerEdge/PartnerEdge)

Why is this Important:

This patch requires some ActiveX controls to be downloaded to the user’s local Desktop

How do I use it:

• Please use the following instructions prior to logging into CustomerEdge/PartnerEdge

1. Start Internet Explorer

2. Menu Item select ‘Tools’
3. Click on ‘Internet Options’
4. Click on ‘Security’ button
5. Select ‘Customer Level’ and enable
‘Automatic prompting for Activex Controls’

9. Click on ‘Trusted Sites’
Add this Web site to the zone:

10. Navigate to ‘Privacy’ button

11. Uncheck ‘Block pop-ups’
12. Select ‘Apply’ and ‘Ok’
13. Close and Restart Internet Explorer
14. Log on to ‘Siebel’
15. Unset all the above settings
16. Close/Restart Internet Explorer
17. Verify that you can log on the Siebel

 Internet Explorer Setting for Faster Login
(This applies to any users logging into Siebel)

Navigate to Menu item ‘Tools’

Select ‘Internet Options’
Click on ‘Advanced’ button. In the Security Option setting
Empty Temporary Internet files folders when browser is
closed and uncheck setting ‘Do not save encrypted pages
to disk’

6. For the option Check for newer versions of stored
pages, use the setting Automatically

Automatic prompting for file downloads and Select ‘Disable-ON’
File download and Select ‘Enable-ON’
After making these changes open the https://pe.netapp.com in
IE7 browser and it will prompt to install the Siebel Options pack from
Oracle USA Inc.
Click on ‘Install’ and this will install the Siebel option and after
the installation is done PE opens automatically.

Note: When you click on the Report Icon for the first time after installing IE7. You will get an error message
‘There is a problem with this website’s security certificate’
Click on ‘Continue to this Web site (not recommended)’ and your Report will Open.
This message will appear only once for your session.
