CONDITIONAL SENTENCE
DEFINITION

is a phrase used to express supposition of an


event that has not happened or even
impossible.
PURPOSE

to reduce the reliance on incarceration as a


sanction and increase restorative justice
objectives.
Various forms of conditional
sentences

conditional sentences are divided into 3


types
1. FIRST CONDITIONAL

If + S + V1, S + will + V1 + O

EXEMPLE :

If I see Barlie, I will tell him


2. Second conditional
If + S + V2, S + would + V1 + O

EXEMPLE :

If Jack became rich, he would marry her


3. THIRD CONDITIONAL

If + S + had + V3, S + would have + V3 +

EXEMPLE :

If I had seen Diana, I would have told her
