OVERVIEW

India is a youth centric country.

Where 52-54% of population is young.
All this youth needs proper employment.
For employment, they must have proper knowledge and skill.
Not only these said characteristics but these young minds should
also have emotional factors to sustain on a job.
Emblem of India
From getting into a job to sustaining in that job.
CHALLENGES

India currently faces a severe shortage of well-trained, skilled workers.

It is estimated that only 2.3% of the workforce in India has undergone formal skill training
as compared to 68% in the UK, 75% in Germany, 52% in USA, 80% in Japan and 96% in
South Korea.
Many skill developing plans such as NATIONAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT MISSION
(NMSD - known henceforth as, the Mission) was launched, which provided the overall
institutional framework to rapidly implement and scale up skill development efforts
across India.
CHALLENGES

Providing the skills to people is not enough.

Only those people can be skilled successfully who have some fundamental education.
Fundamental education only focuses on the intelligence part and ignores every other
aspects of learning such as emotional learning etc.
Emotional and spiritual quotient has been evolved as some new concepts which helps in
the overall development of any individual, but unfortunately these are ignored.
INTRODUCTION

Industrial training, apprenticeship and other skill development responsibilities were

transferred from the Ministry of Labour and Employment to this newly-made Ministry of
Skill Development and Entrepreneurship on 16 April 2015.
It aims to build new skills and innovative thinking not only for existing jobs but also for
jobs that are to be created.
We must include Emotional quotient to our primary education system.
This will help all the children to grow more by learning though their own experience and
from others also.
AIM

Having an emotional and intelligent youth in India.

Overall development efforts across country by introducing it on the primary education
system.
Removal of disconnect between demand and supply of skilled manpower.
Skill upgradation not only informative but also from experience.
Building new skills by observing others behavior and personality.
Having emotional stability to balance work-personal life.
Innovative thinking not only for present jobs but also those which are to be created.
ACTION PLANNING

Introducing the emotional quotient in the primary education system as a compulsory

subject for every student.
Cost for its implementation will be immense but the results are worth it.
Central and state govt. should have to co-ordinate with each other for its roper
implementation on every part of the country.
Proper teaching facilities must be provided for trained teaching staff in these areas.
This type of education should be focused more on practical aspect rather than
academics.
