INTRODUCTION to e-banking

E-banking means covering all the paths of banking business through electronic
mediums.
The main attractions of e-banking comprise : provide 24 hour services, decrease
transaction cost, carry out higher volume of transactions with short time, replace
physical presence of a customer.
Successful performance of e-banking will assist to conduct both B2C and B2B
transactions.
On the other hand consecutive banking is more costly and time consuming and
therefore e-banking is replacing consecutive banking which has many drawbacks
all over the world.
Literature Review

Internet banking has attracted the attention of banks, securities


trading firms, brokerage houses, insurance companies, regulators
and lawmakers in developing nations since the late 1990s. With the
rapid and significant growth in electronic commerce, it is obvious
that electronic (Internet) banking and payments are likely to
advance. Researches show that impact of Internet banking on cost
savings, revenue growth and increased customer satisfaction on
Industry is tremendous and can be a potential tool for building a
sound strategy. However, it has raised many public policy issues
before the banking regulators and government agencies.
Interestingly, reliable and systematic information on the scope of
Internet banking is still not sufficient, particularly what it means to
the consumers and the bankers.

What are the drawbacks of e banking in one bank ltd.?


Improper planning about how to gain and retain market shares of the indigenous banks
through online banking.
Inefficiency of proper international standard communication channel which means which
standard to follow for maintaining communication.
Inadequate back and front office management.
High cost of establishing online banking system which means high prices of developed
software and hardware.
Lack of integrated plan among the banks and the central bank authority.
Inappropriate software and less trust by the bank authorities on local software.
Legal barriers and appropriate policy framework.
Lack of knowledge of the management system about the online banking.
How much they are justified in our bangladeshs perspective?

Still our countrymen have improper knowledge and understanding about online
banking.
Banks are lacking behind to help people understand the facilities they are
providing and how to cope up with these problems. So for this banks inability they
are facing these drawbacks. The cost which is true for both infrastructural and
technical sites of the bank. There is some miscommunication between the central
bank of bangladesh and the other banks so they suffer from improper
synchronization. Moreover, there are new cybercrimes are arriving like hacking,
phishing, mail bombing, spamming and other unwanted criminal activities are
occurred for these there are less efficient laws and regulatory authorities to counter
them and they are introduced after any cybercrime occurs. So these are all more or
less justification the draw backs that one bank ltd. are facing.

The amount of transaction limitation is one of the causes of


customers problem.
The advantage of doing most of the banking task through online
reduce the customers need to visit the bank that effects on
customer banker relationship.
Lack of proper IT knowledge and proper training to employees can
causes poor service to the customers.
The absence of proper planning can also be the reason of pubali
banks online banking drawbacks.
Pubali banks security system is good but is not enough good to
prevent the hackers.
