Pollution- anything that makes the Earth

unhealthy
 4 main types of pollution:

Soil

Water

Air

Noise
 Power plant- a building or group of buildings in
which electricity for a large area is produced
 Pesticides- chemicals used to kill insects and
rodents. It can also harm people
 Acid Rain- rain that has sulfuric acid or nitric acid
in it. It can kill plants or wildlife. Often caused by air
pollution from factories
 Pollution affects not just the environment but
also plants, people and animals
 Each year 1.2 trillion gallons of untreated sewage is
dumped into U.S. water
