Objective of our visit
To augment the classroom learnings with the real-life functioning at the industry
level and gain an insight of the processes and dynamics at play in organizations.

The broad objective of our visit is to enhance our practical knowledge and
understand the mechanisms established for effective running of the company.

In organizational behaviour course, we learnt about various dimensions of human

behaviour like teamwork, motivation, leadership, conflict management etc. and how
they can affect one's working in an organization.

To get a deeper understanding of the same concept and to see how it is realized in an
organization, we visited Esmech Equipment Pvt. Ltd in Thane.

We chose to visit Esmech equipment private limited as the company has both blue
collar and white collar employees working under same roof.

This mix helped us in better understanding how human behaviour help in better
functioning of the company.
3
Our Approach to the company

With the help of Mr. A Sharma from Simplex Infrastructure Limited, we contacted 2
companies named Bhushan steels and KEC international.

Due to certain internal constraints, these companies were unable to give us the
opportunity to make industrial visits. Then, we contacted Esmech equipment Pvt. Ltd.

First we had a telephonic conversation with Mr K.B. Sharma, Senior Vice President of
Esmech Equipment Private Limited. We told him about our objective of visit. After this
he told us to drop a mail consisting in detail our objective, and set of questionnaires to
be asked.

They agreed to our request and gave us a date & time for industrial visit to Esmech

Insights from the visit

Employees at Esmech Equipment Pvt ltd are motivated because of free environment,
multiskill development by job rotation, flexible timings, transparency and trust on the head
of departments.

Whenever an employee gives some suggestion related to work in the organisation it is given
proper attention by the head and after discussing its pros and cons with all the stakeholders,
final decision is taken.

All the employees of the organisation work as a team together and fill in for each others
work in case somebody is not available. Culture of the organisation has been made like a
family by its founders. Many employees are working here since its inception which gives
them a sense of united team.

Conflicts are resolved in an organised manner. System has been established to take care of
such issues in a friendly manner and it is done by respective heads or committee.

Blue collar employees stick to their timings as they are paid on daily basis and white collar
employees are flexible in their timings which affects their punctuality at work.
6
Conclusion

Employees in an organisation give more weightage to affiliation over money and

power.

When employees work for the betterment of their organisation, they also grow with it.
Their communication skills, technical skills & overall personality are improved which
help them grow in their personal as well as professional life.

The involvement of senior management or founders with the hierarchically lower

employees helps in motivating them and create a friendly environment at work place.

For conflict resolving, there should be proper channel in organisations and it should be
resolved at the earliest.

Being future manager, we need to consider the aspect of managing time and showing
punctuality at the workplace so that our subordinates get inspired by us.
7
Recommendations

Currently, there are no team building exercises done in the organisation. Activities
like outing, fun games etc. can be conducted to strengthen the sense of team in
employees.

For every employee, there has to be clearly defined goals and work requirement.
Properly defined workflow will further motivate the employees to put efforts for
their work.

Each and every employee should be told about the vision of the company and its
significance should also be told to them. After this, their work should be defined in
a manner so that employees feel that their efforts are in line with companys vision.
It will give a sense of meaning to their work.

For conflict handling of white collar employees as well there should be a separate
panel consisting of members from different departments.
