PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk is an

Indonesia-based company primarily engaged in coal mining
industry. Its business activities include conducting coal
mining operation, including research, exploration,
exploitation, processing, purifying, transporting and
trading; managing and operating ports and jetties for coal,
either for internal or external use; managing and operating
thermal power plants, either for internal or external use,
and providing coal mining and production related
consultation and engineering services. The Company has
coal mining concessions in several areas in Indonesia,
including Tanjung Enim, Peranap, Palaran and Ombilin. It is
also engaged in briquette manufacturing. Its briqutte
manufacturing plants are located in Tanjung Enim,
Indonesia, which produces carbonated briquettes, and
Natar and Gresik, Indonesia, which produce non-
carbonated briquettes.
Since the press release on 15 Nov 2017, market sentiment on
PTBA shares is worsen, some of the investors were questioning
the future performance of PTBA under holding company (PT
Indonesia Asahan Aluminium / Inalum) and the impact of
Indonesias Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM)
reviews on power purchase agreement (PPAs) of Independent
power producers (IPPs).
ESDMs review of PPAs is only for IPP players that have yet to
start the power plant construction stage and are located in Java.
