On August 13, 1521, Mexico City fell into the hands of the
Spanish conquistadors, after two years of meetings in the warlike,
political and conspiratorial, in which, together with the
Spaniards, the indigenous peoples, enslaved by the Mexicans, in
an effort to rebel leveraging the alliance with the newcomers.
INDEPENDENCE OF MXICO
* Mexico wanted to be independent because we are under a bad
government of Spain, the Indians were treated as slaves and the
Creoles were not in agreement with the taxes that Spain collected.
* Mexico took advantage that in 1812 was promulgated the
constitution of cadis or pepa.
STAGES OF INDEPENDENCE
Initiation

Stage of Hidalgo.- September 1810 - July 1811.


It is characterized by improvisation, disorganization and lack of clear objectives of the
revolutionary struggle, a situation manifested in the content of the brief speech given by
Hidalgo on the morning of September 16, 1810, where the fundamental purpose of the
struggle that began in that was to end the bad government of the Spaniards.

It concludes with the death of Hidalgo (July 30, 1811) and other important leaders of the
movement.

Organization and Definition.

Stage of Morelos.- July 1811 - December 1815.


It clearly defines the purposes of the Independence movement. The document
that best reflects the social and political ideal of Morelos is known under the title
Feelings of the Nation (September 14, 1813) where the first time is the
independence of Mexican America from Spanish rule. The document also contains
indications on the need to moderate opulence and inequality, as well as the need
to transmit sovereignty to the people. This stage concludes with the death of
Morelos on December 22, 1815.

Resistance

Stage of Guerrero and Francisco Javier Mina.


December 1815 - February 1821.
Tithing and disorganized insurgent forces, the struggle is reduced to the south of
the country where Vicente Guerrero keeps alive the spirit of independence,
although given the circumstances with very few opportunities for triumph. In this
stage stands out the participation of Francisco Javier Mina, Spanish liberal who
fought and died for the insurgent cause in 1817.

Febrero 24 de 1821, Firma del Plan de Iguala - Septiembre 28 de 1821. Lectura
del Acta de Independencia.
La causa insurgente se ver apoyada en 1821 por un grupo de peninsulares y
criollos que antes se opusieron a ella. El motivo, separar a la Nueva Espaa del
Imperio Espaol evitando as la aplicacin de la Constitucin Liberal de 1812
recin jurada por Fernando VII, que debera aplicarse en Espaa y sus
colonias.
