The American with disabilities act is

A civil rights law made to protect, and defend the

rights of individuals with disabilities in all public
and private places .
This law protects them from discrimination , and
ensures their equality same as everyone .
Title 2 of the Americans with Disabilities
act is
Similar to other civil rights statues , title 2
ensures that all disable individuals must obtain
the right of equal access to services ,programs
,and activities offered by local government or
agencies .
According to this title Discrimination against
disable individuals is strictly forbidden and
prohibited.

Epilepsy
Deafness
Blindness
Autism
Assistive Technology as it related to
students and learning is
Any software program , or product system , a solution
from the world of technology to assist students with
disabilities ,and improve their capabilities .
Examples of electronic devices that help students with
disabilities engaging and participating in school work and
society : Electric wheelchairs ,digitized voice synthesizer ,
electronic math worksheets , portable word processors ,
screen readers , talking calculators , speak screen . E
readers for example help students to turn book pages ,
and voice adaptive software can help students answer
questions without needing to write .
Captioning and accessibility to you tube
videos
Providing captions on videos make them accessible to
everyone including deaf and hearing impaired users .
Captions help the search of a video so that it is more
easily discovered while searching .
To add captions to video on you tube we must :
a- be the owner of the video and have the video uploaded
to you tube . b- go to
the video manager tab . c- find
the video to caption and select the edit bottom .
d-click the subtitles and Cc tab .
e- choose the video language than select the add subtitles
button and choose the specified language .
An <alt> tag is

A word or phrase used by screen readers (blind and visually people ),

it adds a text description of an image on a web page , describes what
is on the image , and helps make it accessible .
Using an image and including an alt present a clear text alternative of
the image .
To add an alternative text to an image we have to :
a- select the image .
b- open the context menu by pressing shift+F10 while the image is
selected .
c- choose a format picture.
d-choose alt text and describe the image in the description box .
Blinking /flashing content in documents
should be avoided
It affects badly people with cognitive disabilities
or photosensitive epilepsy and can cause seizures
.
It could be distraction to users.
It makes it difficult to read .
It makes difficult the process of organizing and
working with information by computer (process
information).

Is a comprehensive educational tool made in purpose to support reading
,writing ,research ,and studying , it is designed especially for students who
have learning disabilities .
It improves reading fluency and comprehension , facilitates research
,writing, studying , encourage students with disabilities independence
,integrates with mainstream applications and last and not least which is the
important prepares students for success in college and in their carers .
Ghotit technology is

An assistive technology that helps students that struggle with reading and
writing .It helps them to improve their reading and writing skills , especially
those who have dyslexia .
Ghotit technology has different options : 1-
using text to speech technology (adding the hearing sense to the reading ).
2- Using the double coloring reader that mark words in row or sentences .
3- Using the screen shot reader that put the confusing colors and forms aside ,
and let the student focus on reading the text only aloud .
Sip and Puff technology is

A technology used to send signals to a device , it uses air pressure ,and it is

used by people who can not use their hands . By puffing on a tube or straw
they can control their motorized wheelchair .
People with sever motor disabilities have no capability to operate activated
devices such as computers , adapted toys , augmentative communication
devices and devices controlled by scanning ,Sip and Puff facilitate the work
and make it easier to have control over devices .
