Malaria is caused by Plasmodium parasites.

The parasites are


spread to people through the bites of infected female
Anopheles mosquitoes, called "malaria vectors." There are 5
parasite species that cause malaria in humans, and 2 of these
species P. falciparum and P. vivax pose the greatest threat.

Three days prior to admission Mr.
Right complained of headache and
fatigue for two consecutive days. He
had experienced high fever of 39
degree Celsius. Yesterday, he felt
nauseated. Thus, he was brought to
Bukidnon Provincial Hospital to seek
medical care .
TYPHOID FEVER
What is Typhoid Fever?
Typhoid Fever is an acute systemic illness characterized
by fever, headache and abdominal discomfort.
Also known as Enteric Fever or commonly just typhoid.
What causes Typhoid Fever?
Typhoid Fever is caused by the bacterium Salmonella typhi
from the family Enterobacteriacea.
Salmonella typhi is a gram-negative bacteria that is motile due
to its peritrichous flagella.
The bacteria grows best at 37C.

It can also be caused by Salmonella paratyphi,
a related bacterium that usually causes a less
severe illness known as Paratyphoid Fever.
Signs and Symptoms
Incubation period: around 10 to 14 days
High fever around 39C to 40C
Profuse sweating and headache
Gastroenteritis
Non bloody diarrhea
Poor appetite
Lethargy, weakness and fatigue
Generalized aches and pains
Abdominal pain and discomfort
Rash rose-colored spots on the lower chest and upper
abdomen

Disturbance in consciousness
Coma Intestinal bleeding
Death 10% to 30% of untreated cases
Typhoid Terminal State
Symptoms report
Last week on October 15, 2017, patient
experienced abdominal pain and had rashes,
but the patient didnt take any medication.
Three days ago prior to admission, she had a
sudden onset of high fever for around 39.9
degree Celsius. She also felt profuse sweating
and fatigue. As she was admitted in the
hospital , the doctor examined her and
diagnosed of a positive bacterium of
salmonella typhi (Typhoid fever).
Pulmonary Tubercolosis
Tubercolosis (TB) is an infectious disease that
primarily affects the lung parenchyma. It also
may be transmitted to other parts of the
body, including the mininges, kidneys, bones,
and lymph nodes. The primary infectious
agent, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, is an
acid-fast aerobic rod that grows slowly and is
sensitive to heat and ultraviolet light.

Two weeks ago client X had a low grade
fever and experienced nonproductive
cough. Later she complained of fatigue
and sudden weight loss. She also
suffered with a profuse nocturnal
sweating. Yesterday she was admitted
due to hemoptysis. Today she has a
productive cough with a mucopurulent
sputum.
