Introduction
• Electric power system: Network of electrical subsystems of
generation, transmission and distribution. For example:
Electric grid.
• Problems of blackouts in such systems.
• Wide Area Measurement System(WAMS)
can be used to deal with such disturbances in
system

Wide Area Measurement System
• Advanced measurement technology to collect information.
• The WAMS technologies are comprised of two major functions:
-Obtaining the data
-Extracting value from it
• Data is obtained with new generation hardware and high-tech
recording devices.
• Data is extracted with various signal analysis and data analyzing
tools.

Components of WAMS
There are two major components of WAMS:
• Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU)
• Phasor Data Concentrator (PDC)

Phasor Measurement Units
• A pure sinusoidal waveform can be represented by a unique
complex number known as a phasor.

• To find out how technology enhances efficiency in HRM.
• To find out how technology enhances the performance and
efficiency of organizational performances.
• To explore the benefits of technology in HRM practices like
recruiting, performance appraisal etc.

Limitation of Study

• The report is based on limited data of only one organization.


• The report was made in a tight schedule of the seminar with
limited time.
• The report relies on description and analysis.
• The findings of the study may be considered as suggestive
rather than prescribed.

Literature Review: Theoretical Framework
• Brewster & Mayrohfer (2012) noted that providing
employees with specific personalized applications through
HRM portals means e-HRM can be a key method in the
adoption of competitive advantage through intellectual
property.
• Megha Vashishthin (April 2014), “Role of IT in HRM:
opportunities and Challenges”, has pointed out technology as
one of challenges in modern HRM.

Theoretical Framework
• According to Dr. Govind Ram Agrawal:
a) Technological advances eliminate old jobs and create
new one.
b) Technological advances bring changes in job design,
skills need, methods and processes.
c) Complexity is increasing due to increasing size of
modern organizations.

• 10 employees were taken out of 50.
