PLANTS AND EQUIPMENT

Gantry operators must inspect equipment daily before use as per checklist made.
•Do not exceed the rated load capacity of the crane, hoist, chain, cable, slings, or other
component
•No one will be allowed to remain inside the swing area of the plant or below the vehicles
unless deliberately planned and supervised.
•Only trained and authorised operators will handle machinery.
•Angle indicator will be affixed in all cranes and latch shall be installed .
•Reverse / warning horns will be fixed in all cranes / excavators.
•Test certificate and load charts will be made available in all cranes.
•Signalmen / banks man in all vehicles and plants would be assigned .
•Use of only tested and certified slings will be used.
•Wire ropes, tyres, brake and clutch of the above machinery to be in good condition and
shall be color coded which is yellow for the period Jan- march.
•All equipment shall have competency certificate.
Disconnect power that is unsafe or in need of repair. Arrange to have the disconnect
switch locked and the control panel tagged with and “Out of Order”or “Do Not Operate” tag.
Defects discovered during the inspection must be corrected before taking the crane
into service.
