 The Scientific Miracles in
The Holy Quran (Examples)

 Al-Nasiyah (front of the head and the brain) in The Holy

Quran and medicine (Prefrontal lobe).

 The Qura’n is a book of faith (Iman) and
guidance (Hidaayah). It also includes
educational dimensions for the establishment
of a virtuous society. Allah (SWT) says:

ٍ َْْ َ ِّ ‫اب تِ ْبيَاناا ِلك لك ِ ك‬

َ َ ‫علَ ْي َك ا ْل ِكت‬
َ ‫" َونَ َّز ْلنَا‬
89 :ِّ ‫النح‬
"َ‫ي‬ َ ‫س ِل ِم‬ْ ‫َو لهداى َو َر ْح َمةا َوبلش َْرى ِل ْل لم‬
"And we have sent down to thee the book explaining
all things, a guide, a mercy and glad tidings to
muslims”(An Nahl:89).
 The Holy Quran and
science.

 There are many verses (ayaat) in Al Qur’an al

Kareem which deal with different branches of
science ( medical and cosmic).
First Fact Finding

There are approximately 1200 ayaat

which refer to the different sciences,
which constitutes nearly 20% of the
total number of ayaat (6236) in Al
Qur’an al Kareem.
 Second

There are approximately 70 ayaat praising

Science and Scientists, encouraging them
to be involved in discovering the universe
for the good of humanity. As a matter of fact
the first five ayaat revealed to the Prophet
Muhammad (PBUH ) ordered him to read
and learn.

‫) علم اإلنسان ما‬4( ‫) الذي علم بالقلم‬3( ‫اقرأ وربك األكرم‬

Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has

created (1) Has created man from a clot (2)
Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous,(3)
Who has taught by the pen,(4) Has taught
man that which he knew not (5)

 The holy Qur’an describes the front of the head
in the disbelievers being lying and sinful !!

‫(سورة‬ )‫(ناصية كاذبة خاطئة‬

)16 :‫العلق‬
Allah (SWT) says: (a lying sinful nasiyah
(front of the head). (96: 16)
Since the front of the head
does not speak, how can it be
described as being lying? It
does not commit sins. How is it
then said to be sinful?
 • The linguistic meaning of the
Ayah

‫ ناصية‬.‫(كال لئَ لم ينته لنسفعا بالناصية‬

16 - 15 :‫العلق‬ )‫كاذبة خاطئة‬
Allah (SWT) says: (Let him beware! If he
does not stop, We will take him by the
nasiyah, a lying, sinful nasiyah!) (96:15-16)

Al-Nasiyah: the front of the head.

 Functions of prefrontal
area in the brain:

 The function of this part of the brain that lies

in the font of the human head (the prefrontal
cortex ) is to control the human behavior.
 The prefrontal cortex constitutes the bulk of
the frontal lobe of the brain, and its function
is involved in the making of one’s personality.
It is also considered as a superior center
among the centers of concentration, thinking
and memory. It plays a significant role in the
person’s emotion and it is somehow
concerned with initiative and discrimination.
 Prof. Dr. Keith Moore, who stated that the
front of the head is responsible for judging
and for directing human behavior. The
working organs of the body (e.g. the limbs or
tongue) are but tools to carry out the
decision made in the front of the head
 He, confirming what he had said, added:
“When a person intends to tell a lie, the
decision is made in the frontal lobe of
the brain, which is the front of the head.
If he wants to commit a sin, the decision
is made there, too”

lying. The left image represents the brain in the case of
honesty, followed by images of gradual cases of lying,
where we notice the increase in the size of the yellow spot,
which represents the activity of the brain in the front area,
and this activity gradually increases whenever the person
deliberately lying more
 Conclusion
 Prof. Keith Moore, illustrating this Scientific Miracle,
says: “The information we now know about the function
of the brain, was not mentioned throughout history, nor
do we find anything about it in the medical books. Should
we survey all the medical literature during the time of the
Prophet (Peace be upon him) and several centuries
thereafter, we would find no mention of the function of
the frontal lobe (nasiyah), or an explanation of it or a
statement about it except in this Book (the Holy Qur’an),
which indicates that such information is of the
Knowledge of Allah, the Almighty, Who knows
everything, and that Muhammad is Allah’s Messenger”
