Example:
A PU student goes to Jakarta using Bus 121
(Blok M – Cikarang, via Semanggi, Rp13000,-).
As the bus drives on the toll road, the student
measures the time needed by the bus to travel between
km 20.0 and km 19.0 using his stopwatch.
If the stopwatch shows that the time is 42 s, determine the
average velocity of the bus in km/h.
Solution:
1 km 60 s 60 min 60 60
v avg 85.714 km/h
42 s 1 min 1h 42

Due to unit conversion error, the spacecraft
Mars Climate Orbiter encountered Mars at a
lower than anticipated altitude and disintegrated
due to atmospheric stresses. One system
produced results in Imperial unit, while a
second system that used those results expected
them to be in metric units.
The total cost of the mission is USD 327.6
million for both orbiter and lander.
